Purpose of ACP
- To
renovate, build, finance and/or otherwise provide assistance in
connection with low-income housing developments in one or more
cities in the
United States;
- To
create, promote and/or facilitate jobs, job and apprenticeship
training programs, linkage with job opportunities in the public
and private construction and manufacturing sectors and other
economic opportunities for the poor, needy, homeless and
unemployed;
- To
enhance the literacy, safety, health, basic skills and economic
security of the poor, needy, homeless and unemployed;
- To educate unemployed
and underemployed individuals about career opportunities in the
construction industry;
- To disseminate
job-related information from and to federal, state and local
governments, craft unions and the general public;
- To work with and
advise national and local public housing authorities, community
development agencies and others to promote job training and
long-term sound, safe and energy-efficient construction,
structural, rehabilitation and maintenance of low-income
housing;
- To
assist and advise federal, state and local public housing
authorities, government entities, community development agencies
and other groups regarding strategic and regional planning in
order to ensure an adequate supply of community residents,
skilled craft-persons and suitable low-income housing throughout
the United States;
- To provide technical
services and encourage the availability of all types of
financial and credit support for job creating and training
projects and the economic development of low-income communities;
and
- To
sponsor, facilitate, and/or fund educational research, seminars,
forum and publications in furtherance of the foregoing purpose.
